Punjab on Friday became the second state after Kerala to pass an assembly resolution seeking repeal of the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Act, with chief minister Amarinder Singh calling the new law “inherently discriminatory” and redolent of the “ethnic and religious cleansing in Hitler’s Germany”.
